The Formula V8 3.5 teams carry on with their driver’s prospection and work ahead for the 2017 Season in the Circuit of Jerez. Pietro Fittipaldi (Lotus) has set the fastest time in the morning, with excellent track conditions allowing to improve yesterday’s best lap (1.28.607). All top ten drivers were packed in less than 1 second being Damiano Fioravanti (RP Motorsport) and Yu Kanamaru (Arden Motorsport).

Some new drivers and changes in the Entry List for the second day: Fortec Motorsport welcomes the Telmex driver Diego Menchaca as the Brazilian Pietro Fittipaldi moved to the garage next door, with Lotus. Arden Motorsport has installed the SMP Racing driver Matevos Isaakyan in their car #8. In the AVF garage has landed Henrique Chaves, the Portuguese will be aligned with Alfonso Celis Jr.

Pietro Fittipaldi and Matevos Isaakyan opened the Session with cleared skies.  After some installation laps completed most of the Teams called their drivers to work in the garages with the set up as Yu Kanamaru joined the action after his team, Arden Motorsports, putted the car in perfect shape having worked all night!.

Dorian Boccolacci (Fortec Motorsports) set the pace in the early laps but as the temperatures were improving the RP Motorsports driver Damiano Fioravanti started a series of improvements topping the Session with 1.27.709, and joined by his team-mate the Dutch Steijn Schothorst, 0.187 behind. Teo Martin Motorsport driver Konstantin Tereschenko scaled to P2.

The session was red flagged in 6 occasions with Binder, Regalia, Isaakyian, Celis Jr, Chaves and Schothorst causing small interruptions. Meanwhile Pietro Fittipaldi took the lead with 1.27.416 with Fioravanti, Tereschenko, Schothorst and Boccolacci. Nobody could beat the Fitti’s best lapped time. After the last interruption only Binder and Kanamaru managed to improve, with the Japanese securing the third best lap with all top 10 drivers wrapped in less than 1 second.
