Matthieu Vaxiviere (SMP Racing) scored an hard-fought win in Race 2 of the Formula V8 3.5 weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. A torrential rainfall hit the Belgian venue throughout the day causing multiple safety-car situations. The AVF pairing of Tom Dillmann and Alfonso Celis Jr. completed the podium in second and third place respectively. Vaxiviere becomes the sixth different winner after six races!
Frenchman Tom Dillmann (AVF) captured another pole position today at Spa-Francorchamps, in the second qualifying session for the Formula V8 3.5 event at the Belgian venue. The championship leader, who scored three straight poles between Spain and Hungary, did it all again in the third round of the series with a late mark of 1:59.745, knocking Israeli racer Roy Nissany (Lotus) out of the lead at a last gasp.
Fielded by Arden Motorsport, Egor Orudzhev scored his maiden Formula 3.5 V8 win of the year today in Race 1 at Spa-Francorchamps, in the third round of the 2016 series. Orudzhev cruised to victory by prevailing in a thorough battle with Tom Dillmann (AVF) who ended up second and retained his championship lead. Louis Delétraz (Fortec Motorsport) scored third place and the rookie win. Orudzhev is the fifth different winner in the five races held so far this season.
Due a Parc-fermé infringement, Matthieu Vaxiviere (SMP Racing) lost his pole position for today’s race 1. It will be an all-Adren Motorsport front row with Aurelien Panis and Egor Orudzhev
